Trees Beneath Mountain

I offer a unique and highly effective form of bodywork known as Barefoot Shiatsu. Your session takes place fully clothed on a cushioned floor mat. Using my feet as well as hands, I release tissue restrictions and retrain muscular holding patterns. I work with your individual needs to bring about lasting pain relief, freer movement and a more biomechanically sound body.

But Barefoot Shiatsu does much more than treat the physical body. Based on the energetic theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Barefoot Shiatsu utilizes the same points and energy pathways established in acupuncture. Every touch and technique is designed to move energy along these pathways, allowing healing to occur naturally.

I received my training as a physical therapist at the University of California at San Francisco and have over a decade of experience specializing in the treatment of neurological disorders. I currently work at John Muir Health, Walnut Creek Campus in their acute rehabilitation unit. I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley and apprenticed for seven years with Barefoot Shiatsu master Edward Spencer.

My most profound instruction has been from my clients and patients.
I look forward to working with you!

There is no end to the good we can create through the wonders of the human body.
